Mackeyville, PA – The Clinton County Fair has been a long-standing tradition in the keystone state. One event that has been a fixture at the fair has been the Wednesday night stock car race. With a packed schedule during the week it originally wasn’t in the cards for the 2008 season, but raceway promoter Vern Wasson sharpened his pencil and worked with the fair board and managed to schedule a date at the 1/3-mile speed plant. The date for the newly scheduled event will be Wednesday, August 6th. With it being fair week, Wasson wants to make it a special show. With that being said on the card will be the A & A Auto Parts Pro-Stocks, the Ron Enders and Son’s 270 Micros, and the Randy’s Auto Repair 4-cylinder division. These classes will all run an extra distance but most importantly each class will run for an increased purse with a top prize being a cool $500! Also, due to popular demand along with the regularly scheduled program there will be a 4-cylinder powder puff race to close out the night. Drivers will have the chance to let their wives, girlfriends, sisters, aunts, daughters, moms, grandmas, or any other lady that wants to get behind the wheel.

As an added bonus to all spectators there will also be a special price to get in. Grandstand admission will only be $4 and anyone 15 and under will be admitted free. Pit passes will also be discounted to $20 with no registration fee. A full listing of the payout is posted on the website at www.clintoncountyraceway.com. Gates for the event open at 5pm with racing kicking off at 7:30. Clinton County Raceway is located on Route 220 in Mackeyville, just a ¼ mile from the Interstate 80 interchange. The Clinton County fair opens its gates at 7am with events going all day and rides opening at 5pm. Come out and enjoy a day at the fair and a night at the races!
